Close up shot of a stemless wine glass sitting on a wood chopping board filled with Limoncello Spritz. The glass is filled with ice and the drink is a yellow ombre, darker yellow on the bottom which lightens as it goes up. There is a yellow straw in the glass and it is garnished with fresh mint.

Equipment

  • 1 jigger
  • 1 bar spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Limoncello store bought or homemade
  • 3 oz Prosecco
  • 1 oz Club Soda
  • Ice

Garnishes

  • 1 sprig Fresh mint or rosemary or thyme
  • 1 slice Lemon

Instructions

  • Fill a wine glass with ice. If I'm garnishing with a lemon slice, I will add it at this point between the ice and the side of the glass.
  • Pour in 2 oz of chilled limoncello
  • Pour in 3 oz of chilled prosecco
  • Top with 1 oz of club soda
  • Give it a little stir then garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, serve with or without a straw. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. I like to have all my ingredients chilled, so the drink is cold from the start and doesn't cause the ice to melt prematurely.
  2. Adding the lemon slice before the liquids makes it easier to submerge the lemon without sticking your finger into the final drink.
  3. Prosecco can be subbed with any bubbly wine of your choice, champagne, sparkling wine, cava, crémant, sekt...
  4. Club soda is normally used in making this spritz, it has added salts which can enhance the flavor, but you can also get away with sparkling water.
  5. Mint is a great garnish, but some people prefer rosemary or thyme.
